Position: Mechanical Engineer

First of all, Mr. Hedley welcomed the interviewee and introduced the interviewers. Mr. Hedley started by asking Abdulaziz to tell something about himself.

Then, Mohammed Abdulla began asking Abdulaziz so many questions like can you work under pressure? He said yes I can. What qualification do you have? His answer was he had a bachelor degree with GBA 3.5; and where do you see yourself in three years? He said that he will be in a high position like manager.

After that, Omar asked Abdulaziz about the greatest strength he has? He said he was hardworking. Why do you want to work in this company? He answered that  it is a good company, salary and a local firm. The last question was about telling something negative about the company. He said that the location is so far from his city. Finally, Mr. Hedley closed the interview and thanked the interviewee.

Interviewee: Saleh Awadh
Interviewers: Hedley, Mohammed Abdulla & Ahmed Saleh
Position: Section head in oil operation

Mr. Hedley welcomed the interviewee and introduced us to Saleh.

First I started asking Saleh to introduce himself. He said that he was born in 1984 and his age is 28 years; he had good experience with over ten years. Then I asked him about his last position and I asked him to tell me something negative about the company and he said that he did not hear anything bad, why did you apply for this company? He said that it is a new challenge; salary is not his target, because he is looking for a high position.

After that, Mohammed asked Saleh some questions about his greatest strength and weakness; where do see yourself in six years and why should I hire you. He said that he is a motivated person, responsible, can take action, meet deadlines and make a plan for the work. The only weakness he has is making small details. He saw himself in a high position in six years. Finally, he said that you have to hire me because I am a hard worker.

Saleh asked us one question about how long has the position been open and we said around one month. Then, Mr. Hedley closed the interview and thanked the interviewee.

Interviewee: Saleh Al Menhali
Interviewers: Hedley, Mohammed Abdulla & Ahmed Saleh
Position: Sales represent in ADNOC

Mr. Hedley welcomed the interviewee and introduced us to the interviewee and asked him to introduce himself. He said that he is 20 years old, has a bachelor in marketing with GBA 3.85 and he graduated from Al Wahda School.

Then, Mohammed started asking Saleh about his feeling about working nights & weekends and why do you want to work in this company. Saleh said that he has no problem to work at both night shifts and weekends. He wanted to work in the company because he is looking for experience and because the company has a good reputation.

After that, I asked the interviewee about outside interests and working under pressure. Saleh said that he likes football and animal welfare. Mr. Hedley interfered by asking Saleh do you play or watch football? He said he plays with friends in the garden of his friend’s house but doesn’t like watching football on TV. Also Mr. Hedley asked him about what kind of animal he likes and he said that he just likes dogs and cats. Finally, Saleh said that he didn’t like to work under pressure because he likes to finish the work on time.

In addition, Saleh asked us if there was any probationary period and my colleague Mohammed answered him yes there is a training program. Then, Mr. Hedley closed the interview and thanked the interviewee.

Interviewee: Yousef
Interviewers: Hedley, Mohammed Abdulla & Ahmed Saleh
Position: Operation manager in ADNOC

Mr. Hedley greeted the interviewee and introduced us. Yousef introduced himself saying that he was born in 1981, was working more than ten years for Borouge company as a shift supervisor and he is continuing his education in HCT.

First, I asked him about strengths that he has and he said that he likes the challenge to lead people; working in a weak shift that means with poor knowledgeable people, taking care of labourers and training foremen. The weakness that he said is that it is difficult to work with lazy people or with the people who don’t want to change.

Then, my colleague Mohammed asked Yousef about why we should hire him? He said because he has good experience and he is hardworking. Also Mohammed asked if he’s creative or not? And asked to give an example if he said yes? Yousef said yes, he built a team by managing foremen and pushing them to get their rights if they really deserved.

After that, Mr. Hedley asked the interviewee about how he deals with inexperienced people? He said by sitting with the person and by explaining to him the work and making it clear.

Finally, Yousef asked us about who he would be working for directly? I told him that he will be taking a training program from 1 to 2 months and will be working with me in the oil & gas operation section if he got the job. Also we said that he will get a final answer of engagement after two weeks. Then, Mr. Hedley closed the interview and thanked the interviewee.
